Buddha simply means an awakened one. It means an enlightened one. Gautama Siddhartha is the beginning of his journey and Gautama Buddha is the culmination of his journey. His philosophy and understanding is very simple. First is the understanding of the Four (4) Noble Truths. These are that the: (1) Suffering does exist; (2) Suffering arises from the attachment to desires; (3) Suffering ceases when the attachment to desires ceases; and (4) Freedom from the suffering is possible by practicing and understanding the (8) Eight-fold Path. And this path is: (1) Right Understanding; (2) Right Intention; (3) Right Speech; (4) Right Action; (5) Right Livelihood; (6) Right Effort; (7) Right Mindfulness; and (8) Right Meditation. Moving on this path means moving on Buddha's journey. This is what is called Spiritual Leadership.
